On Friday 12th June, despite the very wet conditions, twelve members of the McBains Manchester office took on an eight-mile circular hike from Great Edale to Mam Tor along the Pennine Way, all in support of Contact.
The weather certainly did not make things easy, but the team rose to the challenge and successfully completed the route. Even better, their fundraising has now passed £1,000, exceeding the target they set themselves for the hike.
The money raised will help us continue providing day-to-day support to the young women living at Contact. Our support workers spend time with each resident to help them work towards their own goals and prepare for greater independence. This might mean helping someone manage their money, supporting them with appointments or spending time together working through something they are finding difficult.
We are so grateful to everyone at McBains who took part and helped raise this fantastic amount for Contact. A special thank you to Billie for choosing us as the charity for the challenge and for bringing the team together for such a worthwhile event.
Fundraising like this helps us continue to be there for young women during an important and often difficult time in their lives. We are delighted that the team chose to support Contact and hope they have had a well-earned rest after those eight miles!
Thank you, McBains!
