It’s already that time of year again! Somehow we are mid-August and the weeks are flying by, which means the start of a new school year is just around the corner.
For many of our girls, September brings a fresh start. A new timetable, new goals and yes, a new pencil case. There is something truly thrilling about opening a fresh notebook and turning over a new page. Sometimes it’s the smallest things that help you feel motivated and ready to begin again.
When you don’t have access to those things, it can feel completely demoralising. It’s an obstacle before you’ve even stepped through the school gates. Missing out on the simple novelty of new stationery can take the wind out of your sails.
At Contact Hostel, we always try to think one step ahead. Beyond providing the essentials, we want our residents to feel cared for and never feel they are going without. That’s why we’re asking for your help.
We’re looking for school supplies and stationery donations
We’d be so grateful for donations of items such as:
- Notebooks and lined paper
- Pens, pencils and highlighters
- Pencil cases
- Rulers, rubbers and sharpeners
- Calculators
- Backpacks and lunch bags

Every notebook, pen and pencil helps a young woman walk into the new school year feeling prepared and confident.
