Christmas 2024 at Contact Hostel
Christmas 2024 at Contact was a season filled with joy, reflection and heart-warming moments. Building on the tradition of creating a welcoming and supportive environment, we celebrated the festive season with the young women in our care.
This year, several of our residents were able to spend Christmas with their families, something that brought us immense happiness. For those who remained with us over the holidays, we worked to make the season as special as possible.
Among our Christmas guests was a former resident, now thriving in her own flat and preparing to begin a new job with the civil service this January. Her decision to return and celebrate Christmas with us was both touching and inspiring, reflecting the strong bonds and sense of belonging at Contact. Hearing about her achievements was a proud moment for our team, and her heartfelt card, which she brought along, was a poignant reminder of the enduring impact of our support (see below).
Each of the girls received a bag of presents, including contributions from various supporters: cosy pyjamas funded by Grayce, dressing gowns donated by our friends at the Manchester Soroptimists, toiletries and chocolates from our supporter Emily Fullard and her clients, as well as a variety of items from our Amazon Wishlist. The kindness and thoughtfulness of our supporters made all the difference, turning Christmas into a time of joy and celebration for everyone at Contact.
For us, Christmas is more than just a festive holiday; it’s a time to reflect on the resilience and strength of the young women we support. Each story—whether of a resident forging a new path or someone finding comfort in our community—illustrates the importance of our charity.
Here’s to more stories of success and joy in the year ahead!
