Since 1970 Contact Hostel has been a safe haven for vulnerable teenage girls, offering safe accommodation and support into education, training or employment.

We are a registered charity and receive just one third of our funding from local authorities, leaving us with over £200,000 to raise this year to allow us to continue supporting girls when they need us. By sponsoring a room at Contact Hostel you can help give the gift of hope to vulnerable teenage girls in Manchester.

As a room sponsor, you will receive a welcome pack and special updates twice a year – one in Summer and one in Winter, with stories about the young people we have worked with and the impact of your support.

In 2023 Amaal joined us at Contact Hostel, at this time she was not in education or employment. With the support of Contact staff, Amaal successfully completed a placement with the Princes Trust Foundation and subsequently was selected as one of just 20 out of 200 applicants to join the NHS pre-employment programme.

Following completion of the course and a successful interview process Amaal secured a job in the NHS as a Lab Technician. She now works full time in a job with an excellent salary and good job prospects, enabling her to plan for her future.
