Freya’s* Story: Finding Strength and a Future
Freya* came to Contact at just 17 years old, following a breakdown in family relationships that left her without a stable home. Despite the challenges she faced, it was clear from the start that Freya was a determined and hardworking young woman. She juggled two part-time jobs while striving towards her ambition of attending college, demonstrating remarkable resilience and drive.
During her time with us, Freya worked closely with her keyworker, who provided both emotional support and practical guidance. She learned how to manage her finances and navigate the complexities of independent living. When Freya discovered she was pregnant, our team stood by her side, offering reassurance and helping her make informed decisions about her future.
With the unwavering support of Contact, Freya chose to keep her baby and moved into a dedicated Mother and Baby home when the time was right, where she could receive more tailored support. Recognising that she had little family support, we were able to provide her with a high-quality pram and travel system before she left, ensuring she could maintain independence and safely transport her child, when the time comes.
Freya’s journey is a testament to the power of compassionate support and the resilience of young people facing adversity. We are incredibly proud to have been part of her story and wish her and her baby a bright and hopeful future.
